The recordings in NY & the concerts in Paris
I've recovered from jet lag now.
In a week after I returned to Japan, I did two rehearsals for concerts and a recording of a narration for a radio program, but I was still half-asleep, so I couldn't remember what I did. ( but it's ok, I can do well on the concerts, maybe...)
Recently, I've been listening to all the recordings which I played at a studio in NY, and a gallery in Paris. They sounded very good ! I should listen to each piece of music in detail carefully, but I think all the music was well done.
At first, I was planning to do a recording of my original songs as a solo piano album on this trip, but in the end, I was able to do the recording with a drummer, Matt Wilson, and do a collaboration with a painter, Isao Makino.
Then I went to Paris, I played piano in two concerts which my friend Jean, who is a bassist, planned.
On the 8th October, I played with 6 players : two bassists, a drummer, a singer, and a guitarist. It was written about in the news paper " Le Monde" !!
On the 10th, I played piano alone in the first set, then I played with a bassist, Paed. He played with me last year on a tour in Europe, and came to Paris from Bern for this concert.
In the third set, I played with two bassists, Paed and Jean. They sounded together, and we enjoyed a lot.
I can't tell you all my impressions of this trip yet, because it's too soon since I came back, but I feel the energy which I'm going to use to create a new area of music inside myself.
