New Direction

I went to a concert at the Loop-Line in Sendagaya yesterday.
The program was "Electronic-Onkyo-Session" by Tetsurou Tsuji, who played with me in the concert in January, "zariganicurry", "Mitz" and "shotaro".
It was amazing !! I have almost never been to that style of concert, but I didn't feel unfamiliar. In fact, I got a lot of things out of it because their work was similar to the direction of my music.
One thing that I thought was interesting was a play that I went to the Suzunari theatre in Shimokitazawa to see last week.
I thought the sound was good, and interesting, so I asked Masayuki, who was incharged of the images for the play, about the musician. Masayuki told me his name and the address of his website.
As I was lookig at his website, I found that his style of music is in the same category as the music they played in the Loop-Line.
I've been trying to find a way to creat a new space, draw all the energy present on that occasin rather than separating the player and the audience, into different positions.
The concert made me realize a lot of things clear to me.

Homework

Last week, I spent almost of all the time reading books, putting my CDs in order, and listening to the recordings of my playing again.

I've finished reading two books mystery novels which I was hooked on, "Presumed Innocent" by Scott Turow and "Places in the dark" by Thomas Cook.

I was surprised to find there were a lot of different types of CDs on my rack. I don't know why I bought so many kinds of CD, but they sounded interesting ! I'm going to listen to them more often.

Until recently, I only listened to the recordings of my concerts a few times after each concert, then put them on my rack, but now that I check the recording carefully to see if it's suitable for putting on my website, and the radio program. I listen to my playing in a slightly different way. maybe I'm more objective・・・? but I hear the weak points in my playing too clearly !
Next I'm going to edit the recordings I did in NY last year.

flute

「Honma, omorokattawa~!」 I really enjoyed the concert.( I'm speaking like a person from Kyoto, but it may be mixed with Hakata Japanese, because I come from Hakata )
Recently I've been having a lot of rehearsals for a concert with Toki, who is a Shinobue player from Kyoto. Spending time with her, the rhythm of Kyoto Japanese affected me physically, and it felt comfortable because it sounded like a kind of old japanese. I think there is a relationship between her playing and her language, Kyoto Japanese.
At the concert on the 31th of January, a guest came and played with us, Cho Soki who comes from Mongolia. He was a friend of Toki's.
He played a Mongolian flute "Deetsu", which has a resonator hole covered with a piece of paper made of reed. Its sound, involves harmonics like an organ, gave me a feeling of exoticism.
When we started playing together, I heared a mysterious harmonic mixed with Toki's flute and Cho's flute, then Yutaka, who is a bassist, joined them softly.
It was fantastic!! I was so happy listening to the music that I forgot to play piano.
