Tuesday 12th Sep : Rehearsal with Yutaka ( a bass player).
Wednesday 13th Sep : Recoeded the sound of glasses again with another microphone, because there was a lot of noise on the previous recording.
Thursday 14th Sep : Rehearsal of with one of my groups, named " Kanaria".
Friday 15th Sep : Kanaria concert at "Violon".
Saterday 16th Sep : am - Talked on the telephone with Isao, a painter, about a collaboration in November.
pm - Joined in a new group set up by Tomoko, who is a movie director.
Sunday 17th Sep : I talked with Yuichi, who is a laptop player, about a concert on the 20th.

Recently, I read a book about gardening.
It was very interestiong, and it made me interested in flowers and plants.
I always have a few plants - a bo tree, a cactus, a orchid, and a few aloe plants on the balcony -
and I'm going to collect flowers and plants which I like a few at a time.
I want to learn about soil and fertilizer in a pot, and grow herbs.
There are more and more things I want to do with plants...!
I'm enjoying finding flower shops in towns.
Today, I bought a pot of silk jasmin at a flower shop near my station.

10 days with my mother

On Wedneday, August 30th, I played in the group named "Ahup-yan" at "Penguin House".
My mother and my brother came to the concert.
It was the first time they've seen my performance on stage.
After playing, I asked them what they thought of, and they could say nothing-they just surprised and puzzled.
My mother was visiting for the first time in 9 years.
She could hardly see, so we walked very slowly.
We went to Asagaya, where she used to live, and Kichijoji, where she often took me in my childhood.
Walking around with her, listening to her memories of the cities I was used to seeing, they seemed different as if I had dropped into a time warp.
When we got on a train, one of the people gave up his seat to us, and on another train, another person kept a seat for her.
I had thought Tokyo was cold, but it gave me a different impression.
I went to Fukuoka with her on the 5th of September, stayed there for 4days, and came back to Tokyo on the 9th.

I spent 10 days with my mother.
It was a completely different time from my daily life, but when I was living at her pace, with her doing everything slowly, feeling her way around everything one thing at a time, I felt something being releaed inside of me, and kindness filling my whole self.

!!!

For the first time since I was born, I made music with a computer!!
I recorded several sounds I liked on DAT as elements of my music, and put them into Pro Tools on the computer, and I almost had the idea how I arrange them, except that I didn't know how to move the elements and cut with mouse.
Today my friend taught me the way to do it, and finally I finished the music.
Now I'm basking in the achievement...!

Otoasobi

When I was tidying a room, I found a cassette tape which looked interesting.
"Various of sound": I got it when I took part in a lecture named " Otoasobi no kai", which was organized by Masaaki Takano, and I've never listened to it until now.
On the 60 minute tape, there were 15 tracks whose titles were interesting enough by themselves,
for example, "Horse Gallop", "the sound of ten thousand bees", " A dog in Venice", "Preventing things from making sounds", and " The sound of sunset".
Takano-san, who used to work as a sound engineer, taught us how interesting the daily life were.
I remembered being surprised at hearing the upper harmonics of a rice bowl.
We each brought our own rice bowl, and stroked the rim of our bowl with a wet finger.
The sounds of tape were recorded in real locations using sound tools, and they sounded natural and lo-fi.
In particular, I felt his passion and gentleness from the sounds, and it made me happy.
